FASTData January 1999 Release
Help - First and Second Level Indices
Fire tests in this database are indexed at two levels. The first level indices
(contained in the left-most frame of this web page) are Document, Laboratory, Material,
etc.
A second level index
lists all tests that met particular criteria contained in a first level list.
For example, if you clicked on the link titled "An Experimental Data Set for the
Accuracy Assessment of Room Fire Models" from the document index,
the resulting web page
would list all the tests that referenced that article.
A second level index contains a series of rows. Each row represents one fire test.
Each test is uniquely identified by:
the laboratory performing the test,
the test type, the date the test was performed,
and the test number.
Each row also includes the sponsor and
material burned. A brief description is given below for each column.
- Material - This column contains
the material burned in the experiment.
For bench scale tests
like the cone calorimeter and real scale tests like the furniture
calorimeter, this is the product actually being tested. For real scale
tests that are measuring the impact of fire on a structure, the
material is the product burned to generate fire in the structure. If a
composite of several different materials was burned in the
experiment then the materials will be separated by a "\".
- Description File -
This column contains links that point to the individual test pages.
These test pages contain more details about the fire test described in that row of the table.
- Date - This column contains the date the test was conducted.
- Test Number - This column contains the identification number
of the test being performed.
- Test Type - This column contains the
type of fire test being performed.
- Laboratory -
This column contains the name of the laboratory performing the fire test.
- Sponsor -
This column contains the name of the organization that sponsored the fire test.
