Abstract:
These days, fire models are being widely used to help
code officials determine whether alternative design
analyses - such as those sometimes used in unique
buildings or large projects - provide protection
equivalent to that prescribed by existing building
codes. However, many code officials faced with the
application of a new engineering method in a
high-profile project are uncomfortable if there is no
independent verification that such analyses have been
done properly.
