Abstract:
This report of test describes a heat-flux gage
calibration system that was developed at the National
Bureau of Standards during the 1970s. It is based on a
commercial radiant heater incorporating a tungsten lamp
and elliptical mirror. A kaledioscope flux
redistributor is used to improve the uniformity of the
heat flux distribution at the gage surface. The results
of recent calibrations for ten heat flux gages are
compared with calibrations upplied by the gage
manufacturer.
