Abstract:
This paper presents the state-of-the-art in development
of analytical procedures to predict the structural
performance of woodframe houses and identifies areas of
needed research. It is found that while significant
progress has been made in analytical modeling of
shearwalls and diaphragms, only limited progress has
been made on the modeling of complete houses and
intercomponent connections. Most of these analytical
procedures are used primarily as research rather than
design tools.
