Abstract:
The U.S. federal agencies' strategy for research,
development and deployment in support of the industries
of construction has been developed with these industries
by the Subcommittee on Construction and Building of the
National Science and Technology Council's Committee on
Technological Innovation. The vision is a competitive
U.S. industry producing high quality, economical,
sustainable and hazard resistant constructed facilities.
Goals have been established for better constructed
facilities and improved health and safety of
construction workers. Numerous cooperative activities
addressing the goals are underway.
